We are a group of talented and professional musicians

Grupo Luma are a dynamic Latin American fusion band led by

Chilean brothers Francisco and Oscar Carrasco, long-standing

figures in Liverpool’s cultural scene. Blending original

compositions with traditional and contemporary sounds from

across Latin America, the group takes audiences on a vibrant

musical journey through the continent’s rich and diverse

heritage.

Forjando Caminos is Grupo Luma’s first Album. It blends Latin American rhythms, with a diverse musical textures, and vibrant live energy with heartfelt, bilingual lyrics. The songs explore love, identity, resilience, and cultural connection, pairing poetic warmth with infectious grooves to create uplifting, contemporary music that bridges communities and celebrates shared human experience through sound.

Featuring an exceptional ensemble of musicians—Erik Bichard, Fran Bass, P. Max Alder and Phil Hargreaves—the band delivers an energetic and immersive live performance. Their sound is shaped by a wide range of instruments, including the Andean charango and quena, Venezuelan cuatro, Peruvian cajón, Argentinian Bombo Legüero, alongside trumpet, saxophone, flute, guitar, bass, and an array of Latin percussion.
